How Shine uses AI
Shine uses AI to suggest wording, careers and next steps for young people. AI suggestions are never decisions about a young person's eligibility, support or outcomes.

Where AI is not used
- Council and institution reports. Every figure is calculated from returns and records with fixed rules.
- Small-number hiding in reports, which follows a fixed rule.
- Decisions about any young person's eligibility, support or outcomes. Staff and young people make those decisions.
