The King's Trust — the charity many people still know as the Prince's Trust — runs free Get Into courses across the UK for 16 to 30 year olds who are not in work or full-time education. Each course is built with a real employer in a specific sector, includes hands-on work experience, and many end with a guaranteed interview or a direct route into a job. Everything is free.

What is a Get Into course?
Get Into is a short, practical course — usually one to four weeks — run with a named employer in a specific industry. Recent examples around the UK include retail with Marks & Spencer and Boots, healthcare with NHS trusts, customer support with the RAC, and business administration with BAE. You get:
- Real work experience with the employer, not just classroom time.
- Employability skills — CV, interview practice, communication and teamwork.
- A foot in the door — many courses end with a guaranteed interview, and some lead straight to paid roles.
- Ongoing support — the Trust typically stays with you for months after the course ends.
Who is it for?
Get Into is aimed at young people who are not currently in work or full-time education — if you've left school or college and haven't landed yet, this is built for you. Courses are free, and the King's Trust also offers Development Awards (grants of up to £500) that can cover course fees, tools or equipment if money is the barrier.
How do I sign up?
- Go to the Get Into page on the King's Trust site.
- Browse courses by sector and location — new ones are added all the time.
- Register your interest; the Trust will contact you about taster days and start dates.
Is it the Prince's Trust or the King's Trust?
Same charity, new name. The Prince's Trust became the King's Trust, and thousands of people still search for the old name every month — so if a friend mentions a Prince's Trust course, this is the same thing.
What if I want a paid job straight away?
Get Into is a stepping stone, not a job — but it's one of the fastest legitimate routes into sectors that rarely advertise entry-level roles publicly. If you'd rather go straight to paid work, search live roles on Shine or take the free career quiz to see which sectors fit you.
