Charities and positive causes to donate to: helping young people
Want your money to do something good? Here's how to choose a cause, some well-known youth charities, and how to back a young person's first job.
Why young people?
981,000 young people aged 16 to 24 in the UK weren't in education, work or training in April to June 2026. That's 13.0% of the age group (Office for National Statistics). Help at the start of working life can change what happens next.
How to choose a good cause
- Pick the change you care about. Examples are education, first jobs, health or your local area.
- Check who they are. UK charities are listed on the Register of charities (Charity Commission).
- Ask what your money pays for. Look for a clear, specific answer.
- Decide if tax relief matters. Gift Aid only applies to registered charities and community amateur sports clubs.
